DUAL CREDIT RENEWABLE ENERGY CLASSES:
The primary purpose of the Energy Technology Education Program at New Mexico Junior College is to support the educational infrastructure necessary for the nation to successfully move forward with its energy initiatives.
This dynamic program promotes and strengthens courses by teaching required skills, safety, site security, protection of the environment, and other critical fields relating to the nation's energy needs. Programs are available for high school students interested in the Energy Technology field.
ENERGY TECHNOLOGY DEGREE:
The Associate of Applied Science Degree is offered completely online. Students will have the luxury of taking classes in their own environment while also having access to the many resources and educational tools provided by NMJC.
With an Associate of Applied Science Degree, students will have learned specific areas of
Radiological Control
Nuclear Technology
Wind/Solar Energy Industry Specific Topics
Enrolled students must meet the Energy Technology Degree educational requirements while maintaining a GPA of 2.00 or better. A total of 72 - 77 credit hours must be received.
Including the General Education/Departmental requirements, students will also study emphasis areas such as Nuclear Science, Theory of Radiological Control, Safety and Reliability, Instrumentation, Nuclear Chemistry, and Monitoring & Protection.
