Includes a big-picture view of the industry including a discussion of upstream, midstream, and downstream processes, as-well-as basic geology and petroleum reservoirs. Course will include a tour of a typical petroleum production facility, with emphasis upon field terminology, equipment usage and standard operating procedures.

2. Identify regional petroleum reservoirs
3. Describe the major production and transportation processes from upstream to downstream
4. Describe the major well site processes
5. Describe the outcomes and products of downstream process plants

Overview of the Petroleum Geology
Includes a detailed discussion of the concepts of petroleum geology, oil and gas reservoirs, and the characteristics of production zones. Classroom emphasis will be placed upon the practical application of basic geology to the production of crude oil and natural gas.
